In the constant search for the continuous growth and improvement of its operations, Rumo has an area specialized in Logistics Projects, responsible for the development and implementation of new businesses in the industrial and agricultural commodities segments.

With the goal of intermodality, the projects area‘s affect Rumo‘s entire rail network in Brazil, converting ideas into business.

New projects are developed based on operational and commercial feasibility analyses, followed by a logistics design customized to suit the client‘s needs. The final steps ate implementation and follow-up of the indicators suggested.



Rumo provides complete logistics services to Camargo Corrêa Cimentos, one of the major Brazilian companies of the sector. The operation at the Apiaí factory, in the State of São Paulo, features inbound input handling, highway and railway shipment of final goods to the company‘s terminals and/or distribution centers in the three southern states of Brazil.

At the company‘s distribution center in Ponta Grossa (Paraná), Rumo also executes railcar unload, inventory management and shipment operations.

Refrigerated Cargo

The Company was the first one to offer railway-based logistics solutions to handle refrigerated cargo. Through a partnership with Sadia, it launched the first refrigerated express train in the country. Since then, the company has implemented a terminal structure adapted to receive refrigerated cargo in strategic places along the rail network, such as Esteio (in greater Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul state), Cambé and Cascavel (both in Paraná state). In addition, it has installed railcar re-cooling centers in Guarapuava and Curitiba (Paraná), attracting new clients, such as Seara, Frangosul and Perdigão. By offering direct service to the container terminals at port such as Santos, Paranaguá, Rio Grande and São Francisco do Sul, Rumo provides these clients a direct export line.

The various advantages provided to clients of this segment include lower logistics costs, higher service reliability and increased safety in product transportation.
